Optional Sitecore Package

The optional Sitecore package is a package that you can install in Sitecore that will allow you to control what YAF should display. YAF is capable of displaying either the complete board, one group (consisting of several forums) or a single forum.

The package contains:

• A Dropdown field type called "YAFDropList" that displays all groups/categories/forums from YAF.
  
• A template called "YAF/Forum" containing the field type.
  
• A sublayout called "YAF/YAF_Forum" containing a YAF control that displays the group, category or forum that was selected using the YAFDropList on the YAF/Forum template.
  

How to use the package

• Add the YAF/YAF_Forum sublayout to the page that should display a YAF forum
  
• Let the same page inherit from the YAF/Forum template
  

Now you can use the dropdown to select which board, category or forum to display on the selected page.

The package also contains

• A layout called "YAF/Admin" in the core library.
  
• A new Start menu item that allows you to administer YAF from inside Sitecore.
  

This feature allows any sitecore user to be logged into YAF as the YAF administrator and administer YAF from a shell application. Please note that by default, only member of the Sitecore administrators group have access to the feature.
